On our farm we go one step further than ‘free range’. Our chickens,turkeys and ducks are free to roam around and eat fresh grass every day. This allows the birds to do what they do naturally, eating grass and scratching for bugs in fresh air and sunlight.

The birds do have a coop they return to every night to protect them from predators.  

Did you know?   Although our chickens are slightly smaller than the conventional supermarket chickens, our meat when cooked shrinks  MUCH less.  Also, the fat on our chicken is yellow because of the chlorophyll from the grass they consume. When made into chicken broth, this fat does not turn into a hard wax like other birds.

Future Plans:

In Spring 2012 

1) We will construct our first poultry tractors.

2) We hope to partner with Bernerland Farm in Portland Ontario to provide our poultry with certified Organic feed!
